General Dentistry

The secret to a bright, healthy smile is actually no secret at all: brush, floss and get a professional dental exam at least once every six months. Regular dental exams make it possible to identify and treat a problem in its earliest stage – which is not only good for your oral health but also good for your budget!
There’s nothing to fear with a dental exam. Your teeth will be visually examined for signs of plaque, tartar and tooth decay, your dentist will also evaluate your risk of developing other oral health problems, as well as check your face, neck and mouth for abnormalities and your gums will also be examined for puffiness or discolouration, which are signs of gum disease. A full set of dental X-rays may also be taken during your dental exam, to enable your dentist to see below the surfaces of your teeth.

Hygiene Treatments

Our Regular Scale and Polish is ideal to keep your teeth and gums clean and healthy.

The Deluxe Sparkle Clean, incorporating our Air Flow® stain removal system, uses fine air-polishing powder to remove heavy stains by smoking or coffee, for example. Then choose from out tutti frutti range of polishes for a clean, fresh smile. This treatment is ideal for special occasions to add that extra sparkle!

White Fillings

Mr Moncrief has found that most patients prefer to have their decayed teeth, or old metal fillings replaced with natural looking white fillings.  We routinely use white adhesive materials which give an excellent seal against the seepage of bacteria and blend into the natural shade of the tooth.

Restorative Dentistry

Our Dental Therapist will scale and polish your teeth using the latest stain removing treatments and if necessary we can offer deeper cleaning and antibiotic therapies to treat difficult areas or advanced problems. Decayed or broken teeth can be restored by our Dentists with white mercury-free fillings assisting function and eliminating the disease. Weak, crooked, discoloured or misaligned teeth may be restored with a crown or a veneer. A dead tooth may benefit from a root filling before the tooth is restored. For missing teeth, the most popular and permanent solution has to be the dental implant. Implants offer a comfortable, permanent option and removable dentures and fixed bridges are an option to restore function and appearance

Preventative Dentistry

At 2TH we believe that prevention is better than cure, and that tooth decay and gum disease are both preventable. Research shows that patients’ home care is as important as professional treatment when maintaining oral health and keeping teeth for life – we approach it as a team effort. Our Clinical Team will advise you on the best ways to care for your oral health and this will help you fight against gum disease and decay. Regular appointments allow us to monitor your oral health and we will intervene at the earliest stage should further treatment be needed. Dietary advice, fissure sealants (resin applications applied to the biting surfaces of back teeth) and fluoride treatments are offered to help reduce decay and these can be especially valuable in children.

Cerec

CEREC is a revolutionary computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technique which is transforming the nature of restorative dentistry – and it’s available right here in Market Harborough, at 2TH Dental. This advanced, but well-proven, the process enables us to design, produce and place individual ceramic restorations in a single appointment.

Dental Implants

At 2th we offer the option of implants to replace any missing teeth.  Implants can be used to replace single or multiple teeth and as support for bridges and dentures.

This well established tried-and-tested treatment can be done here at our surgery, using a simple local anaesthetic.

Replacing white teeth with implants can mean that we don’t have to involve any existing teeth, making it favourable to other methods of tooth replacement.  Implants that are cared for appropriately can last for many years giving you the confidence to not only smile for today but for many years to come.

Teeth Whitening

If you are self-conscious about the shade of your teeth or if you have staining on some of your teeth, professional teeth whitening treatment is a safe and recommended option for you to consider. We offer both in surgery and home whitening kits that can be combined for optimum effects. With all whitening treatment, individual results will vary and are dependent on your initial tooth colour and the nature of your tooth staining.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry has the potential to create a more beautiful smile.  Treatments can be used to straighten, lighten, reshape and repair teeth.  Cosmetic treatments include tooth whitening, white fillings, crowns, bridges and veneers.

When a tooth is badly broken or heavily filled, the dentist may need to crown or ‘cap’ it to restore its appearance and strength.  They can be made from a variety of different materials, such as porcelain, porcelain bonded to metal or gold.

Bridgework can be used to replace missing teeth using either side of the gap for support.

Veneers are thin facing porcelain.  They are an ideal way of treating discoloured or unsightly teeth.
